Good morning,
We are contacting you as a group of second-year Early Childhood Education students at the CEIR Arco Arago school in Barcelona.
We are currently developing an ongoing project that consists of a storytelling activity, which will be used to plan and carry out various educational activities.
We would like to know if your centre has carried out any similar activities, what your experience has been, if you find the idea interesting, and what recommendations you could offer us to improve the implementation of our project.
We thank you in advance for your attention and cooperation. We remain at your disposal for any additional information you may require.
Sincerely,
M

Hello,
And thank you for your question! Kuopio City Library provides weekly story times for early education (daycare and preschool) at the main library and monthly story times at some of the branch libraries. The story times are themed and include involving the children in the story-telling in different ways. Once a month the story times at the main library are conducted with support signs and we have received a lot of positive feedback for that.
We have also put together ready-to-use story time packages for early education to use in their own premises. The packages include the books and props necessary for conducting the story time as well as instructions for the activities that go along with the stories. The activities are designed to involve the children in different ways e.g. by using gestures, movement or oral response. The packages have had a good reception.
There are also some story-times available on video on the internet library and they are free to use e.g. for remote story-times.
At the moment we provide material for early education in Finnish only but there are quite a few immigrants from different backgrounds in Kuopio region so it might become relevant at some point to provide material in different languages as well.
