Did Kuopionlaani have church books available to use now for family research. Where would the records of births, marriages and death be from Kuopionlaani? How far back can family research be done, considering, that we here and the USA cannot visit Finland during our combined family research. The people of English origin can go back for hundreds of years in their family research, I have heard that in Finland the law is to go back only one hundred years. Is that true? What assistance can I, and from where, get for family research outside Finland to connect it to Finland back to generations? Where are, with what email addresses, the archives of people of Karelian background held? Has Finland given complete details of birth, marriage and death registers to be used in Salt Lake City, Utah USA, as we of non English/British Commonwealth background have been advised to contact Salt Lake City for our research?

Yes, The Kuopio Province, Kuopion lääni, was a province of Finland from 1881 to 1997. From 1997 Kuopion lääni has been a part of Eastern Finland Province, Itä-Suomen lääni:

There are church books of Kuopio and other provinces too in the collections of the National Archives. Unfortunately the inter-library loans are possible only in Finland and to other Nordic countries.

Databases are updated constantly and Finnish privacy law prohibits showing records aged under 100 years, so check regularly if there's new data available.
