Services for teens differs between Public libraries in Finland.
In the Public Libraries Act (1492/2016) it says, that public libraries are tasked with:
1) providing access to materials, information and cultural contents;
2) maintaining versatile and up-to-date collections;
3) promoting reading and literature;
4) providing information services, guidance and support in the acquisition and use of information and in versatile literacy skills;
5) providing premises for learning, recreational activities, working, and civic activities;
6) promoting social and cultural dialogue.
These services are of course aimed at teens also and very often libraries co-operate with schools to provide these services for teens. It is very common...
Documents older than 100 years are digitised by the National Archives of Finland.
For newer documents, you need to ask from the church registry from the right parish. The Geneological Society of Finland has tips on their website.

The largest fablab / makerspace of the Helmet (Helsinki metropolitan area) library network will be opened in December 2018, when the new central library Oodi opens in Helsinki city centre, with a wide range of tools such as a laser cutter, sticker printer, heat press, sewing machines, overlock sewing machines, embroidery machines and badge machines. Providing a public list of telephone numbers (a telephone directory) is a commercial business. There has never been one free catalog for whole Finland, but the local telephone companies did make their own catalogs for a long time and these were given free to the people who owned a share of the company. The last printed catalog in Helsinki area was pubished 2017.

When it comes to Libraries.fi, a link to vacancies can be found only on the Finnish and Swedish versions of the site. I believe the reason for this is simply the fact that if one speaks nothing but English, one cannot work in Finnish libraries.

In Helmet libraries the loan periods do not expire during 16.3. – 19.4.2020. If you have not returned the loans by the due date, the loan period will be lengthened automatically.
While the libraries are closed, you cannot pick up your holds. The reserved materials will be kept waiting for pick-up for a couple of days after the libraries are reopened.
Kirjasampo-service has made a list of historical novels for youngsters in 2017, which concentrates on books about Finnish history and only has titles published after 2000. It has some titles from authors like Maijaliisa Dieckmann and Leena Laulajainen, who have written several books on different periods of history even before that date.

Using the subject heading "suomen kieli kielikurssit" or "kielikurssit suomen kieli" you should see the availability of both books, cassette-courses and even cd-roms. The cassette-courses come in packages, which contain both the recordings and the books.
Employed person in Finland is a person who gets salary or wage of his/hers job and who pays taxes.
The number of employed persons does not include home mothers, students and workless job seekers and of course the grey economy, too.

Thank you for your enquiry. There are no national guidelines for laminating the book in Finland. Every municipal library can decide individually about the ways of laminating or protecting the book. In Helmet libraries (municipal library for Helsinki metropolitan area) laminating is done by the supplier. That is part of the deal with the supplier.
At the moment, Kuopio city library (in Eastern Finland) in experimenting with non-laminated books. The idea is to experiment how the books will last without lamination in the normal library circulation.
