Kysymyksen sitaatti ei ole Lewis Carrollin kirjasta, vaan Tim Burtonin sen pohjalta ohjaamasta elokuvasta. Siinä se on Liisan vastaus Hullun Hatuntekijän kysymykseen "Have I gone mad?" Sananvaihdon inspiraationa on luultavasti ollut Carrollin kirjassa teekutsuja edeltävä Liisan ja Irvikissan välinen keskustelu:
"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you ca'n't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
